Molecular strategies of resistance and killing during disinfection. Associate Professor at Universidad del Valle (1997-2024) – managed the Faculty of Engineering laboratory network and created and directed the Master's program in Biotechnology. Founder and director of the BIOX-ENERGY research group (category A1, Minciencias - Colombia); leader in research on culture-based microbiomes and biovalorization.
Currently a senior research fellow at Murdoch University (biotechnology for the human microbiome).
Extensive experience in advanced cultivation of environmental microbiomes (soil, water, sludge, and intestinal microbiomes using bioreactors). Circular bioeconomy strategies that integrate anaerobic digestion, bioenergy, and microbial fertilizers.
